my face in thy eyes--thine in mine appears.

Okay, fine, slap my hand. I forgot about my blog. Oopsie. The past month has been a whirlwind for my hubby and I. Let me fill you in.

First, we sent my in-laws and 12 year old brother-in-law off to Cameroon, West Africa for 18+ months. They're going as missionary aides with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Pretty major, and super excited for them. Also sent my other brother-in-law and his new wife to New Mexico for school. I started my new job at Ross, we're still on the search for a second car, and we're back on the search for a home church. We're feeling pretty good about one specifically; gonna give it one more visit. Told ya it's been crazy.

Jarrett and I were talking about it the other night, about how we feel like we can finally start our life now that all this stuff is out of the way. It's like for the first time since the wedding, I can finally breathe. it's nice.

Soo, my table and bed? Both now look amazing, but you'll only see the table today. i'm waiting for my new duvet to show you the bed(:

i painted it with the color "urbane bronze" from Sherwin-Williams HGTV paint line. it's a bronze-y gray color--matte finish. it took two coats to get the perfect solid color i wanted. still looking for chairs to match. :)

love is....

...a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.

there's something in the water that makes me love you like i do♥

i have a horrible habit of losing track of these things i'm supposed to update, like blogs....unless they can somehow be attached to my phone. then i'm okay(: my sister said i would be a good blogger, so here goes nothing.

living in an apartment with white walls where you are not allowed to paint is killing me. white walls(and not crisp, perfect white. dingy, dinged, dirty white) to me says this place isn't mine, won't be mine...i want so bad to put my mark on this place, to make it ours...it feels like a blank canvas i've been banned from touching. uuuggghhh...

having a husband who is a manager for sherwin-williams does have its advantages, even when the paint that never comes out of khakis makes me grit my teeth. advantages in the form of discounts and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to paint interacting with my diy-ness. (:

these are my current projects: a wood four poster queen size bed one of my husband's coworkers gave us for free and an oval wooden dining table given to us by my mother-in-law, both with permission to paint. I'm very excited. i mean, who turns down free furniture?

the table, however, did not come with chairs. i am addictively monitoring craigslist to find some to make match it.
